Role Library
Create, edit, & set permissions for users within your account.
Overview: The Role Library in Aljex is where administrators can create, manage, and set permissions for specific job roles. This tool allows for precise control over what each role can access and modify within the system.
Navigating to the Role Library:

Accessing the Role Library:
- Go to the top navigation menu.
- Click on More and select Role Library from the dropdown.

Managing Roles:
- Default Roles:
- The system comes preloaded with three default roles: Admin, Aljex 5 Default User, and API User.
- Creating a New Role:
- Click on the Create Role button.
- Name the Role: Enter a name for the new role.
- Role Description: Provide a description of the role's responsibilities.
- Assign Users: Users must be added to the system before they can be assigned to a role.
- Click Add Users to assign users to the role from the list.
- Editing an Existing Role:
- Click the three dots next to a role and select Edit Role to modify its settings.

Understanding the Legend:
- Custom (Blue): Custom permissions are set per module or action.
- Full Read and Write (Green): The role can view and edit content.
- Read Only (Orange): The role can view but not edit content.
- No Access (Gray): The role has no access to the module or action.

Configuring Front-End Permissions:
- Pages and Modules:
- Select Manage Shipment to view and edit the permissions for shipment-related modules.
- For example, to allow a dispatcher to edit carrier rates:
- Set the Carrier Rates module to Full Read and Write (Green).
- If the dispatcher should only view customer rates, set the Customer Rates module to Read Only (Orange).
- Actions:
- Configure specific actions such as placing shipments on hold, voiding shipments, or accessing the template library.
- Permissions can be toggled on or off depending on the role's responsibilities.
- Pages and Modules:
Finalizing Role Settings:
- Saving the Role:
- After setting all permissions, go to the top left corner of the Role Library page.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
